Meet HOT FREQ: Yogawear for a Higher and Hotter Frequency
Meet HOT FREQ! My name is Liana, and I'm the founder. To explain where this started, and what the brand means to me, let me say the obvious part out loud: I am aware that the world does not need another activewear brand. We are all set on sports bras and matching sets. Trust me, I know. So before you file HOT FREQ next to everything else in your endless scroll, let me take you back to the very beginning. I was seven.
Okay, sort of kidding. But stay with me.
Thanks to my mother, I grew up surrounded by crystals, dream interpretation books, psychic readings, tarot cards, astrology, and anything mystical. Manifestation was my first real gateway into what we might call spirituality (yes, by way of The Secret, and the book it was based on): the idea that the world is made of energy, and that we are too. Even as a kid, I understood these concepts weren't exactly mainstream, and like every other teenager, I eventually got distracted and mostly forgot about them.
Then COVID-19 hit. I was in college and desperate for any kind of routine, so I turned to YouTube yoga classes to stay sane. You can guess what happened next. I became obsessed. From there I dove into Ayurveda and the ancient philosophy behind yoga, and I realized that all of those spiritual and metaphysical ideas from my childhood tied in beautifully with the practice.
I had just graduated, and like most 22-year-olds, I was sitting with the big existential question: what do I want to do with my life? I took a full-time job, but something deeper was missing. So I enrolled in a 200-hour yoga teacher training, and the rest is sort of history.
HOT FREQ was born from my deep love and respect for yoga, and the culture and philosophy behind it. I wanted to build a community that reflected my personal style while honoring a practice that has given me, and many others, so much. This is my reimagining of yoga culture: real yogic philosophy, meets the mystical and spiritual, merged with 21st-century style.
I sincerely hope HOT FREQ can become a community for people drawn to everything I've talked about here. My goal is for us to learn, flow, and grow together. Besides, hot freaks need somewhere to commune, right?
Also, I watched Pilates quietly take over the internet and decided something had to be done about it.
